Gable designs
Gables can follow the roof pitch with raked panes, or combine a rectangular lower section with triangular panes above.
Combining with doors
Many gables include bi-fold or sliding doors at the bottom, with fixed glazing above.

Self-builds and new extensions
Glazed gables are most common in self-build houses and new extensions with vaulted ceilings, where the gable end can be designed around the glass from the start. Talking to us during the design stage helps your architect and builder form the gable and supports in a way that suits the glazing.
Orientation and comfort
A gable facing south or west will take a lot of sun. Glazing choices make a difference to how comfortable the room feels on a bright summer afternoon. At survey we'll ask which way the gable faces and how you'll use the room, and talk through glazing options that suit.
Fixed glass above, doors below
The most popular design pairs fixed glazing in the upper triangle with bi-fold or sliding doors at ground level. The result is a full wall of glass that opens at the bottom. Frames can be aligned so the vertical lines of the doors carry up through the gable for a clean, deliberate look.
Measuring at the right time
Gable glass is shaped to the exact angle of your roof. We take final measurements once the structure is complete, so every raked pane fits precisely.

Choosing a brand
We supply and fit products from manufacturers rather than making our own, which means we can recommend what genuinely suits your home. Origin aluminium is our best seller and carries a 20-year manufacturer's guarantee. RK Steel is our main steel brand, for internal and external windows and doors. We also supply Palladio and Bel'M. At survey we'll explain the differences in plain terms.
Understanding the guarantee
Because we don't manufacture, the guarantee on your product is the manufacturer's guarantee, and it varies by brand. Origin products carry a 20-year manufacturer's guarantee. For other brands, we'll confirm the guarantee for your specific product in writing with your quote, so there are no surprises later.
Getting an accurate quote
Every opening is different, so we don't publish prices. The fastest route to a firm figure is a free survey: we measure, check the condition of the opening and talk through the finish, glazing and hardware you want. You'll get a written quote listing exactly what's included before you decide anything.
